Bristol Spiders, Venomous and Huge?
Venomous Spiders in Bristol - FAQ's
Bristol has a very diverse cultural mix and this abundance of nationalities introduces the need for a bewildering variety of foods from across the globe. Along with this imported harvest comes insects and spiders of every kind it would seem, and this is something we love to handle because you really never know what you are going to see next.
Spiders in Bristol are a little more diverse than other areas because of our history with trading across the seas. We were recently told by an eminent entomologist that Portbury dock has been found to hold no fewer than eight different species of scorpion!
Bristol's Spiders - Are Any Dangerous?
Yes! We have a dozen or so British Spidersin the UK and at least four of them found in Bristol, that can, and do cause severe pain and tissue injury, but most spiders found in and around our homes are perfectly harmless.
What we do not have are any "deadly spiders" - YET! The spider pictured above is a very common and aggressive tube web or funnel web spider found across Bristol.
Spiders like this are fast, powerful and will give you a significant bite if provoked.
Bristol is seeing a rise in the diversity of spider species and over the last few years we have seen some massive house spiders and an overall increase in the size of more dangerous spiders. This is not hype, this is fact. We go into hundreds of lofts, cellars, sheds and gardens each year, so we see far more spiders than most other professions, AND we are looking for them!
What should I do if I get bitten by a Spider?
If you feel it is safe to do so, place a jar over the top and contact us immediately. We will send one of experts straight over to collect it. If it escapes then we can carry out an emergency fumigation to try and eliminate it. We do have a small charge for collection and assessment service, but this is a very small price to place on your peace of mind and professional advice.
following assessment we can advise you if a pest control treatment is required and explain your options and the costs involved.

How do I get Rid of Spiders?
Residual insecticides and rapid knock down fumigation is the normal method, but it has to be stressed that lasting elimination is rarely possible in domestic premises, but a high level of overall control is possible. Spiders represent your very own natural pest control so elimination of spiders could create an increase in other insects, so this is worth considering.

Pest Control Bristol. Getting rid of Wasps and other insects like Bumble Bees, Wasps and Rats is not as simple as many pesticide manufacturers will lead you to believe. As the only Pest Control Bristol exterminator offering a dedicated insect control service, we are able to deliver solutions that are guaranteed to work.
Environmental health services, are all about understanding the pests you are trying to eliminate or prevent so you can make the environment less conducive to them. The Wasp for example creates a wasp nest early in the year so if you wanted to exterminate wasps in Pest Bristol you would probably guess that checking for a new wasp nest in your loft in April and May would allow you to remove a wasp nest safely before it became too large. By understanding your pest, you are able to plan treatments in advance, before infestation occurs and the cost of elimination becomes high.
